Designated Opinion: Can you hear that tomahawk chop?

When I was growing up, my parents never wanted to shell out for extra TV channels. Maybe that's a thing of the past now, but ESPN and FSN used to be novelties to the average television consumer. Alas, TBS saved the day; watching the Braves on Sunday mornings was as essential to me as eating breakfast.

Chipper, Andruw Jones, Johnny Estrada, Rafael Furcal, Marcus Giles, Tim Hudson, John Smoltz. JOHN SMOLTZ!!! The guy actually pitched in the big leagues, contrary to how comfy he looks in the booth now. If Turner Field did anything for me, it sparked some nostalgia over the good old days. Those Braves had won 11 consecutive division titles. That's impressive. The last time ATL finished on top of the NL East was 2013, with a vastly different roster look, and Bryce Harper is still in Washington, so a+b=c.

Can you hear it? It's getting louder.

From BaseballAmerica.com's Midseason Top 100 List the Atlanta Braves boast nine players. Maybe that doesn't jump off the computer screen, but perhaps it should. Allow me to give some perspective; the SF Giants comparatively have one player in the top 100 (Chris Shaw, #86) despite their organization living in the same climate as ATL. Pound for pound, the Giants have a more attractive roster on a name-by-name basis. When it comes down to it, some people are building a lake house (Braves), while others are searching for the receipt to Orchard Hardware to return the dud hammer and nails they just bought (Giants). I'm a proud fan of the Dodger blue, call me a homer, but the future is dark and dull for the Halloweeners of the Embarcadero.
