Dodgers Game 67 Notes 6/13/23
When better to decide to start a daily blog on something finite than when it's already 41% of the way done. Los Angeles, CA, we start on a relatively warm Tuesday night in June for what's been a cold year, and the same can be said for the baseball season of the Chicago White Sox - a cold year. I'm (very) sure what the southside fans want in this cold year, is a cold beer. Since I'm starting at Game 67 here was the tale of the tape for tonight:
Dodgers 37-29, 2nd NL West
Tony Gonsolin, 3-1 2.21 ERA
White Sox 29-38, 3rd AL Central
Lance Lynn, 4-6 6.72 ERA
If you happen to find this blog on Twitter let me know what you think about the style. Don't expect people to wade through a nightly blog on something they probably don't care about, so cheers to quick and fun:
Top 1st
-Joe Davis mentioned Luis Robert's 15 HR is already his career high; why do I think of him as a player that's already hit 25+ for 3-4 seasons?
- Luis Robert walked then stole 2nd
Bot 1st
-Will Smith 2-run home run (Freddie Freeman on 1b) on his own bobblehead night: good thing / bad thing?
- i went and voted 5x (daily limit) for Will Smith after that Home Run
-Jason Heyward hitting 4th for the Dodgers, let alone any team
-David Peralta 2-run home run (JHey on 1b)
Bot 3rd
-Lance Lynn kinda looks like ass
Top 5th
-Uneventful game for the most part since the 1st inning
Bot 5th
-Gavin Sheets great catch - fell over wall
-Lance Lynn is lacking control big time, despite only giving up four runs through a LONG 5 innings.
Top 6th
-Gonsolin 6 IP, 0 runs
-ends up being done. 85 pitches. white sox looked like they wanted him to pitch a great game
Bot 6th
-Lance Lynn 105 pitches, 5 IP , two runners on 1b/2b left in Top 6
Bot 7th
-Will Smith, similar to the Luis Robert note from the 1st, Willy hasn't been an All-star yet in his short career. I know it's like his 4th full year only but seems like he's been to 3 asg's already
- Wow Will Smith has 30 more career HRs than Luis Robert. lol that blows my mind for whatever reason
Bot 8th
-JD Martinez just got called out on an 0-2 pitch for a clock violation after a foul ball. Brian O'Nora is lucky that it's 5-0 or Dave Roverts may have actually ran up to home plate and murdered him
Top 9th
- Andrew Vaughn got some of the craziest crazy eyes ever
- Just saw the logo on Tayler Scott's glove, apparently he's south African??
