Ranking NFL Uniforms from Worst to Best - Part 2
A few weeks ago I posted a blog with my NFL uniform rankings from 32 through 17. Coming up with rankings is as easy as it seems, but when trying to tie in corresponding commentary to each ranking, it inevitably takes exponentially more time than if I were to post rankings with just "Team Name; Photo". That's exactly what I'm going to do for this list, however.
If you happen to read this blog post and like it, please retweet/like it on Twitter and/or respond with any constructive criticism or really any other thoughts you have, good or bad. I appreciate any and all who read this!
16. Detroit Lions
15. Buffalo Bills
Fairly generic look for the Bills but much improved branding that's served them well since the Drew Bledsoe days.
14. New York Jets
A lot of shit gets given to every team that redesigns unis. Pretty sure I referenced this fact when I talked about the Rams in the first half of this blog. For what it's worth, I liked the Jets old uniforms, I thought the green was supremely unique in the Jets' previous look, and although I shook my head at the Jets reveal back in 2019 for their current jerseys, I've taken a big 180 on them since.
13. San Francisco 49ers
Next.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers
One thing that makes the Steelers' unis unique to me has always been their numbers. No team in football in college or pro football has the same numbies.
11. Baltimore Ravens
10. Washington Commanders
I do not care what anyone says, these unis hit so mf hard. This isn't completely about helmets, but they have an elite helmet and a Top-5 away jersey in the NFL.
9. Chicago Bears
Part of me wants to attribute this ranking to the nostalgia I have of watching the Chicago Bears play on Monday Night Football on ABC with Al Michaels and John Madden. In 2004 - 2006, the Bears were on Monday Night Football every other week. A timeless look.
8. Kansas City Chiefs
7. Green Bay Packers
6. Cleveland Browns
I'm a noted sucker for the details. The Browns drafting a new number font a couple years ago is what got them to #7.
5. Philadelphia Eagles
At some point around the 2010 time, the Eagles transitioned from a shiny swamp green to a matte swamp green. I like it.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
Come at me with everything you got to dispute this. I'll puddle you. If you don't think the Jaguars have a Top- 5 uniform in the league you are a rhubarb, respectively.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
The best helmets in the league deserved an equally reputable uniform combo, and they got that in perfect timing with their franchise QB.
2. Minnesota Vikings
I don't think my two cents is requisite here.
1. Los Angeles Chargers
Mid franchise. Elite sports uniforms in ALL sports. If you deny this you're a fucking idiot or you have a vendetta against people with correct opinions and you belong in an institution. I'm sure this will piss off more people than it was intended for, but what does that say about your dumb ass?
